Iran Is Tough To Talk With

Iran is once again on the backburner and I am sure they will stay there until they speak up once again to gain the worlds attention. Israel still seems genuinely concerned with the ongoing nuclear crisis in Iran but to the rest of the world it is a topic that runs hot and cold. Iran and its president have been shooting from the hip in public for some time now but in reality most of the world has dismissed them. Is this a good way to treat Iran or is it the right way? Do they really pose a threat as much as we are led to believe? If so, why is the rest of the world so passive about the issue?

Iran has been trying to communicate with the White House through back-channel overtures, basically a way for them to save face, but the White House has not been very responsive, this leads most to believe that the chance for breakthrough discussions between Iran and United States is quickly evaporating. Repeatedly Washington has ruled out direct negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program.

The issue has affected the Iraq war because of the influence Iran now wields in Iraq, the same form of Islam that rules Iran is now the majority in Iraq and these individuals have a slight allegiance to the Iranians. This similarity has given the Iranians a chance to engage Iraqis, something that was unheard of previously because of the Iran-Iraq war.

As discussion of U.N. sanctions has intensified so has the Iranians position on their nuclear program. Irans’ Megalomaniac President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has spoke out routinely against the United States and Israel, he has openly vowed that he would love to see Israel wiped off the face of the world as well as their citizen’s burn. Most believe a nuclear missile accomplishes both tasks for the Iranian president. Many also fear the Iranian president has reached a point where he feels that a nuclear strike on Jews would embolden him as a hero to Islam.

Just how important is the Iranian Issue, important minds want to know.
