Why Worry About Iraq When I have America To Be Concerned About?

We have heard the hype before; the only difference is now there is a little brown wrapper around the piece of candy being offered to the good little Americans who continue to pay their taxes to fund a policy in Iraq which is very discombobulated as well as frustrating. We have heard the hype before so pardon me if I don’t get all puffed up up about the permanency of the Iraqi government. We were told the liberation of Iraq would be the grandest thing. We were then told the temporary formation of a government would do the trick. Then it was free elections. Now the magic pill is the reported permanency of the Iraqi government. Forgive me if I don’t do a jig on this occasion but the policy as well as the situation has made me very skeptical. I also grow frustrated that we here in America are losing on the battleground of education for our children while our President continues to funnel monies to a country that is still apparently hostile to anything that is not Muslim.

I believe the formation of a permanent Iraqi government is a step in the right direction but I do not feel that it should dominate American headlines. How about caring about America here for a little while? We have an immigration policy issue that is tearing our country apart by its very fabric. We are also experiencing tremendous job losses at every level of employment. What is our President doing to address these issues? Why should Iraq get so much pub and money and domestic issues get pushed to page 10 of most American newspapers and news casts?

China and India are educating their young at a tremendous pace; meanwhile America is neglecting education and focusing on countries half way around the world. We need to focus on domestic America a little more and foreign concerns a little less.

Bush Needs More Focus On America Not Iraq
