Do You Hate Barry Bonds Or Yourself?

Barry is the epitome of what we hate in ourselves. Therefore we have chosen to make Barry our own personal voo-doo doll stick pin figure rather than look at ourselves and say we have lowered our standards and swallowed our own pride. It’s easier to blame Barry for our own shortcomings. We hate Barry for everything we now accept from modern corporate America. Barry is not the problem, we are. We let Barry get away with cheating for soo long that it became the norm and then we all the sudden decided it was wrong. Sounds familiar, look at our immigration issue, same sort of slippery slope and same sort of predicament. We looked the other way at outsourcing and now look at the mess. We tolerate cheating, lying, and unethical behavior, as long as it does not affect us. Then when the problem hits our door step we get all self-righteous. Talk about being hypocritical.

You can hate Barry Bonds all you want but you cannot dismiss his home run records just because he has walked the thin line between legal and ethical behavior. He was a baseball player who learned the ways of modern American business, he manipulated the lessons learned to his benefit, just like modern Big Business America has, and he prospered just like modern Big Business America has. You may not like him but he exemplifies the lowest levels modern American business has stooped to, this is why baseball has not taken action against him, they, just like all other American businesses, laid down with the dog and now they have to live with the fleas.

Barry Bonds tied Babe Ruth and will surely pass him but many say he did this unethically, and unfairly. However, in reality Barry did what was best for Barry and in the end this is what most do now in modern America, so who can really stand here hypocritically and throw rocks at Barry from their glass enclosed household? Modern business in America hires illegal immigrants and yet they contribute to law enforcement charities, and political parties, is this any more or less ethical than what Barry is doing?
