We have heard all of the hyperbole about what we need to do in Iraq, and then we did it. Why has nothing really improved? First it was remove Sadaam, done, then it was quench the pockets of resistance, done, then it was create an Iraqi security force, done, and then it was free elections, done. We have done everything asked of us yet we are no closer to getting out of Iraq than the first day we entered it, why has someone not been called out to be held responsible for the length and cost of this war.
I recall numerous White House officials stating that this war would be over fast and at a cost of less than 100 billion dollars to the American taxpayers. We are now heading into year four and the cost is astronomical, how much longer and how much more life and money will be lost before this failed policy is ended, or at least accounted for?
The elections were supposed to be a turning point but the purple fingers have went away and back now are the daily car bombings and kidnappings, the daily suicide strikes and the assassinations, where is the improvements?
They are blowing up police stations, army recruiting stations, and even normal buses and bus stops. High ranking officials are being assassinated and their family members kidnapped, where is the improvement here?
America has sacrificed almost 3000 lives for this war and where are the tangible results these sacrificed lives deserve? We have spent hundreds of billions in Iraq while back home in America are children suffer from lack of education, and police protection, where is the improvements for these sacrifices?
Everything the President and the White House has asked for the Armed Services and the American taxpayers have delivered, why have they not? We have paid with blood, sweat, and tears, where are the results?
