President Bush Not Laughing At Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert took a chance and went with his gut feeling, some liked it others despised it, but either way this man cracked the inner Bush circle of protection and floored the President with his poignant imitation of President Bush himself. The comic reporter carried on for around 10 minutes delivering a stingingly satirical speech about President Bush and those who cover him.

The humorous tirade occurred at Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. The comedian took shots at President Bush and the hypocritical media that covers him. Many of his remarks were right on point and really only upset the Bush inner circle as well as the partisan hacks in the crowd who try to portray themselves as independently thinking journalists.

The U.S. News & World Report has confirmed that Bush, along with some of his staff and aides were distinctly unhappy with the subject and matter of Colbert’s routine. U.S. News & World Report stated, “ Comedy Central star Stephen Colbert’s biting routine at the White House Correspondents Association dinner won a rare silent protest from Bush aides and supporters Saturday when several independently left before he finished.
“Colbert crossed the line,” said one top Bush aide, who rushed out of the hotel as soon as Colbert finished. Another said that the president was visibly angered by the sharp lines that kept coming. “I’ve been there before, and I can see that he is [angry],” said a former top aide. “He’s got that look that he’s ready to blow.””

If we can’t laugh at ourselves then who can we laugh at?
