A Day Without Immigrants Demonstration Is Just Not Right

A day without an immigrant, what a perception of a misguided ideal. How dare these individuals come into America illegally and then threaten to hold our country hostage because they feel slighted. I believe strongly that a day without immigrants should be met with a day without civil service for the individuals participating. Imagine if they can’t go to our hospitals, call our fire departments, use our public transportation, or rely on our police force, which by the way they over tax without paying one cent for.

I pay taxes for the roads I drive to and from work on, do they? How dare they threaten to strike. Do they pay water taxes? I sure bet they drink the water paid for by these taxes. Do they pay school tax? I sure bet they send their children to public schools. How dare they avoid the responsibilities of American citizenship then cry about the way they get treated, or portrayed. Almost all of our grandparents, or great grandparents, came here as immigrants. Immigration is not the issue, illegal immigration is, and those who break the law are a disgrace to all of the hard working proud immigrants who have become legal citizens the correct way. Illegal immigrants skirt all forms of responsibility and then they say they will strike to show us how badly they can hurt us. I say that just shows how un-American they are and if they think it is soo bad why don’t they go back to their homeland and strike there to make a difference, why come here to cause trouble?

I am not racist, anyone who knows me would say that 100%. What I am is reasonable, and the atrocity of the day without immigrants strike is disgusting to me. I feel that if these individuals feel so slighted why don’t they report to an immigration center and try to become a citizen the legal way. What is wrong with obeying the law? Are these illegal immigrants above the law? Is that what you are saying? If they cannot become legal citizens like so many other hard working immigrants did then tell me why? Why are these immigrants any more special than many of my hard working, honest, friends who migrated to this country legally? How dare you tell my friends they had to do it the hard way and that’s just too bad for them. They worked hard to be here honestly and they studied to become the great citizens they are, I will not sit idly by and watch you degrade their accomplishments.

Rather than be greedy and selfish why not spend the day thanking America for the opportunity it has provided, you don’t have to be so greedy so fast.
