Scott McClellan definitely had one of the most entertaining, and difficult, tenure as the White House press secretary as anyone in politics ever experienced. How many times did we see this wide eyed perky gentleman stroll out in front of cameras and roll out the party line like it was a recital of the alphabet?
Many are judging the man by their feelings in regards to President Bush and I feel this is just not fair. Scott McClellan was the messenger not the policy setter; you shouldn’t kill the messenger because you don’t like the message. Scott McClellan was always accessible and reasonable; he answered what he could and politely deflected when he had to. I personally think he did a wonderful job of preparing information and sharing it with the American press.
Many scoffed at the revelation that Joshua Bolten would usher in a new set of changes to the Bush Administration. However, there have been some recent changes and whether they are perceived to be for the better or worse, this President needs change. Change for the sake of change is not always good but when you have the image problem President Bush currently enjoys, you have to get drastic. I would not be surprised to see the curtains changed on the White House, or the landscaping changed, this House needs a renovation and I think its coming when it is most needed.
I also like the fact that Karl Rove is not going to be making policy decisions; did anyone even know he was? I thought this guy was hiding and trying to lay low but instead I find out he has had his big head perched on the White house lawn buzzing down and getting involved in numerous Bush Administration policy issues. I am glad this has changed.
Will there be more changes? Some say minor ones but the majority of changes that will be made are already in the works or done. Let’s hope we see the benefits from these changes and that the new Presidential image revitalizes an in need America.
