Do not believe your ears, there is no truth to the rumor that Zacarias Moussaouis’ defense teams only hope of saving his life is moving the trial to California and they are pursuing this avenue. The case of Zacarias Moussaoui is as open and shut a case I have ever seen, I think even a California jury could see this. However, let’s keep this phase of the trial in the eastern Time Zone just to be safe. Having Rudy Giuliani speak at the trial will definitely be an emotionally stirring occurrence; I felt this man felt the pain of every American in the world when the tragedy struck his city.
I would not call all politicians, or celebrity, who showed emotion towards New York as disingenuous but I feel that there was no other ulterior motives from the former mayor of New York. Many strutted in front of the cameras to display their sorrow and dismay. However, it was Giuliani’s painful yet strong eyes that I feel best sums up the American spirit of caring while moving forward with the remains. While so many wanted to cry in front of the public Mayor Giuliani cried for and with the public. President Bush was a great leader during this time but Giuliani was even more of a leader. He demonstrated poise, consideration, determination, and intelligence, all at the same time and many times at the same moment. He deserves to be heard at this trial.
I also believe the jury should hear the lone cockpit voice recorder recovered from the hijacked plane, this is the first time the recorder will be played publicly. I feel all of America should have the opportunity to hear this recorder. We lost as a nation, we grieved as a nation, and we should be informed as a nation. I believe we should all have the opportunity to hear the tape so that we can understand the evil we dealt with and the evil that is still out to harm Americans. Prosecutors previously invited families of the tragedy of flight 93 to hear the recordings at a unique private briefing in 2002.
During the trial Jurors heard read aloud a partial transcript of American Airlines flight attendant Betty Ong detailing to the American Airlines’ customer service center about the stabbings and the spraying of mace near the front of the plane as the plane flew towards the World Trade Center.
I hope the families, and former Mayor Giuliani, have a tremendous impact on the jury hearing their accounts. I feel that as part of the punishment phase in the trial Zacarias Moussaoui should have to face the victims. He may not have been directly involved in their deaths but indirectly this man s a guilty as guilty can get, even in California I think this is an open and shut decision for the jury. “ Trow Da Book At’M ” as my fellow New Yorkers would say.
