The old Card has been folded and the new chief of staff is getting up to speed. Will he make a difference, we sure hope so. President Bush needs a shot in the arm to revitalize his image and his credibility. Many believe the President is more focused on immigrants, and foreign countries, than his own constituents.
President Bush states he is doing all of his worldly jet setting work to make the world a better place for Americans but as Americans lose jobs to outsourcing, face domestic battles with the in-sourcing of illegal immigrants, and get pounded by the high price of gas, they become disenfranchised with the President and his political party. This had many Republicans asking for changes and now the President has made one, a big one. Let’s hope America is a better place for this.
It’s no secret that President Bush’s popularity is at a very low point, Joshua Bolten is expected to revitalize the Presidents’ flailing domestic agenda, while also building better relations with the Congress and Senate. Many say its Boltens’ job to put an American face back on the policies of the President.
There is the issue however of power in the current White house. The President wields the ultimate stick but many say Karl Rove, and Dick Cheney, rule the yard whenever the big dog is away. Many Washington insiders say that Joshua Bolten will face an uphill batle because of the infrastructure President Bush has in regards to Cheney, and Rove. Many say nothing gets done that is not approved by both Cheney, and Rove. This may cause a conflict in regards to the fresh faced, fresh thinking, new chief of staff. Many say Bolten has not been around the block yet and when its time for the ride he may not be prepared.
Hopefully that is just tired rhetoric and Cheney, and Rove, allow this man to help the President reinvigorate the country with fresh thoughts and ideas. It has been said that President Bush has given Joshua Bolten Carte Blanche to hire, fire, or delegate the White House staff as he sees fit. He has also been advised to submit to the President any possible changes in the Cabinet he believes may be necessary.
Let’s pray for the best for this young man and hope he gets the job done where many others have failed. Will Rumsfeld and others be out? It will be interesting to see.
