Andrew Card Leaves The Bush Administration

When you get a bad hand you usually fold them down and wait for the next shuffle. The deck has appeared stacked against the President lately so he asked for a new dealer and he promptly made a dis-Card. The shakeup has begun in the Administration and many have said this change has been needed for quite some time and it could not have come at a better time for President Bush.

Issues coming out of the White House have been very controversial lately and the effort, and energy, in managing the White House was said to be very draining on President Bush chief of staff Andrew Card. The change to Joshua Bolten is not earth shattering but any change at this point is welcome. Hopefully a fresh voice with new views can help the President change his direction on certain issues while also helping the President regain the confidence of Americans.

President Bush announced the resignation of the White House chief of staff Andrew Card, he announced that his replacement will budget director Joshua Bolten. The President commended Andrew for his service and stated, “I’m honored to have served with Andy Card. I have great confidence in my next White House chief of staff.”

The change comes at a time when the President is getting pounded by almost every policy making decision he is involved in. The Iraq war is foremost on the publics’ minds but issues such as immigration, and job outsourcing, are also hurting the President. Another issue that will be quickly served up on Joshuas’ plate will be the issue of port security. President Bsh appears to be trying to hand off port security like it’s a hot potato; the American citizens appear to not trust his decision to do so. Joshua Bolten will either have to help assuage the American populations’ fears or convince the President that a policy change in how he has handled the situation is needed.

It was reported that Andy Card recently approached President Bush and suggested that maybe it would be better for the President if he stepped down from his position. However, it appeared that Bush still had confidence in Card and wanted him to stay on with the current Administration
