Bush And The Immigration Policies Stir Emotions

The United States Senate is sitting on a hot seat issue and they have no where to run and hide from this one. Controversy is breaking out throughout the United States with various groups demonstrating in support of their positions. However, the question needs to be asked, ‘How can we support anything, or anyone, considered illegal?

I support immigration, but it must be legal immigration, any other form of immigration must not e tolerated, not because its discriminatory but because it’s the rules. If we start deciding which rules are real rules and which are just maybe rules then we are opening ourselves up to anarchy and this cannot happen.

I understand the opinions of those demonstrating, they make very good points and valid arguments. However, I again revert back to the illegal part of immigration. If these individuals are coming to America for legitimate purposes than they should have no problem following the legitimate system, does any other industrialized country in the world make an exception to this rule? I don’t think so, and neither should America.

Almost every individual reading this article is the grandson, or great granddaughter of an immigrant. Immigrants from all over the world helped build America into the great country it is. But we must remember, these immigrants entered the country legally, and that is really all we want from any other immigrants during modern times.

With so many foreigners devoted to destroying American lives we cannot bend, or lighten up, this policy. We must keep the policy firm and strong. We need to address this issue with resolve and make sure that America is first and foremost protected by any immigration policies past. Feeling can be hurt but they will mend, if immigrants want to earn a part of the American dream they will do so legally, they understand the need to follow rules as we all should.

Therefore I tell the people demonstrating, good for you, keep up the debates; it is good to question policy. However, to our policymakers I must reiterate, it’s your job to do what’s best for America not what is wanted by a certain group of people. If we lax our immigration we give away part of our security, this must not, and cannot, happen.
