Can You Believe America Is Supporting This?

While we hoot and holler about progress in Afghanistan I bet you won’t hear this anywhere else. I hope you share this with all you know, have them read it for themselves. In Kabul Afghanistan an Afghani man is being prosecuted and will most likely be sentenced to death based on the heinous, and unforgiving, charge of converting from Islam to Christianity.

The courts back this up, the government backs this up, does America really want to send funding to a country whose administration allows this? And where are all the death penalty opponents, and human rights watchers, on this one? How can we support a nation where it is a capital punishment crime to practice your religion of choice?

And before you say things are changing let me advise you that you are right but you must understand that this trial is believed to be the first of its kind in Afghanistan so you tell me, is it changing for the better or the worse?

This trial displays to the world what real gain is being made in these areas. How can there be this type of struggle between religious conservatives and reformists in modern times such as these? Even the Taliban did not take levels to this extreme, are things actually growing worse now than when the country was ran by the rule of the Islamic fundamentalist Taliban regime.

The man being so wrongly accused is 41-year-old Abdul Rahman. Abdul was reportedly arrested after his family accused him of becoming a Christian, Judge Ansarullah Mawlavezada said. The judge went on to say, “We are not against any particular religion in the world. But in Afghanistan, this sort of thing is against the law…It is an attack on Islam.” How can a judge even be involved in such a blatant, and heinous, misrepresentation of the law? The official charge Rahman was charged with is the rejection of Islam. Is this really a capital punishment offense? If the guy shuns God then isn’t his eternal damnation enough? Have these radical religious fruitcakes really gone so far over the edge that they now consider themselves judge and jury?

Islam shares the same teachings as the Jewish Bible, and all of the Christian Bible. Don’t these fundamentalists remember the verses where God dictates Judge not least ye be judged first? Who are they to force religion down someone’s throat? I think the fact that we supply any assistance to a government who allows this type of law is one of the worst parts of this issue.

Ahmad Fahim stated, “Afghanistan’s constitution is based on shariah law, which is interpreted by many Muslims to require that any Muslim who rejects Islam be sentenced to death.” This is a statement from the human rights leader? Imagine what the other bozo’s must think and agree to.

The wackiest part, if you can actually discern one idiot from the other is that the prosecutor, Abdul Wasi, stated he offered to drop the charges if Rahman converted back to Islam, but Rahman refused. Abdul Wasi stated, “He would have been forgiven if he changed back. But he said he was a Christian and would always remain one..We are Muslims, and becoming a Christian is against our laws. He must get the death penalty.”

How can any American justify supporting this?

How Can Bush Justify This?

  1. “Let Freedom Reign”…

In an earlier post, I discussed the plight of the man in Afghanistan facing death for converting to Christianity. Today, we have heard the official U.S. Government response to this absurdity. Our response came at a press conference held by Under Secret…

  2. Hi,

I just tracked back to my site and thought I would leave you a comment. I agree with you that we need to raise awareness about this. This is not the kind of freedom that we were sold in all the “Let Freedom Reign” rhetoric. Where is the President on this? Shouldnt he even feign outrage???

  3. “Islam shares the same teachings as the Jewish Bible, and all of the Christian Bible.”

Uhm, no. Mohammed stole a few convenient concepts to tack them onto the heresies for which he was excommunicated by the Bishop of Antioch, but by and large, Mohammed did NOT incorporate any significant teachings from either jewish or Christian scriptures. In fact, he taught a god entirely different to the One both the Christian or Jewish teachings proclaim. He chose a lesser-revered pagan god from a pantheon of over 300 arabian pagan gods and elevated that moon-god to supreme status, convinced some tribes to go along with him (largely for political and economic reasons), and when he had enough followers began systematically looting the Jewish inhabitants of the Arabian penninsula, killing the men and raping and enslaving the women and children, excusing his actions with on-the-spot revelations from his god (and enriching his followers with the possessions and persons–in the form of salable slaves–of

  4. Oh, etc… :-)

In short, any shirt tail theological examination of the teachings of Mohammed reveal them as having nothing in common with biblical teachings, save for a few sops thrown Jews early on to decieve them, until Mohammed could find a way to kill and enslave them, and loot their possessions.

(Lots of different factors played into how Mohammed devised his early-day, but more nasty and brutal, Scientology-type scam, including the way tghe tribes he allied himself with were getting hammered in trade with India by the Ethiopian tradeships, envy by mostly illiterate brigands/traders–depending on the circumstances–of the economic success of the mostly literate Jews who simply practiced good business, etc. Infighting between Constantinople and Rome gave Mohammed a wedge in time and the rest is a history of brutality, trachery, deciet, murder, rape, pedophilia and worse… )

  5. David,

I see that your Taliban viewpoints are shining brightly. Look in the mirror and do some real reading instead of spouting hate. Your type of hateful nonsense is very similar to the nonsense used by the radicals in Muslim countries. If you both agreed to substitute the words “Christian”, “Jew” or “Muslim” with a generic “that hateful religion”, then you could live quite happily together.

    Have a nice day :)
