Why has Congress addressed such hot issues as the NCAA BCS football championship, Cruise Boat safety, and Steroids in ML Baseball, but they have done nothing to curtail the high price of rising gasoline prices? America has one of its largest stockpiles of reserve petroleum in history, hybrids are now populating the roads, and the cost of a barrel of oil has fallen in the past two weeks, add all this up and something does not seem right with the cost of a gallon of gas and I think our politicians need to be more involved, or we need to vote them out in 2006.
We always walk down this road but this year it appears worse than ever and I for one don’t feel like doing this one more time. The oil companies recorded record profits last year and this year they are on place to blow away last years figures. So what can be done? What is our Senate, and Congressman doing? Nothing it appears, and the President is soo busy trying to save face in Iraq I think he has no idea about the growing crisis right here at home.
In case the President forgets, rising fuel costs always hurts the American economy. Therefore, I beg congress, or the Senate, to launch an investigation into why the price of gas is rising while all indicators would indicate that it should be falling, and falling fast.
The summer holidays are just around the corner and this is even more money in the bank for these bloodthirsty oil barrens. I ask you, please do something before this gets out of hand. Contact your elected officials and advise them that you want this issue controlled. Feel free to use our government contacts list to find out who your elected officials are and let them know, you won’t stand for this any longer. You want answers and you deserve answers, it’s the American way.
