Score one for the good guys on this one. I am all about enjoying the internet but some have taken the tool to an extreme use and for what they did I am glad they got nailed. US Attorney-General Alberto Gonzales was front and center on an investigation that resulted in the arrest of numerous child-porn peddlers.

I am also proud to say that there were numerous other American authorities who helped bring down the notorious child pornography ring; they worked in conjunction with the Australian Federal Police, and their European counterparts, to investigate and arrest major players in this child pornography network.

When the final totals are counted there will be approximately 30 scum-bags arrested. The arrested individuals come from all over the world, these individuals were arrested in the United States, Canada, Australia and Great Britain. The arrested individuals are accused of possession, distribution, and manufacturing of child.

The laws regarding the internet are so vague it allows individuals like this to thrive. I am not advocating that the government pull a big brother on the internet but what I am proposing is a better understanding of modern technology and a better code of laws to address issues evolving from the technology.

I don’t want eavesdropping, or network sniffing, but I do want criminals such as child porn pushers punished to the extent of the law and right now or current internet laws are so vague that most judges are not prepared to hear a case built on these laws.

The arrests were part of a sting on a reputed worldwide child pornography network that apparently has transmitted molestations of children live over the Internet. US Attorney-General Alberto Gonzales stated, “These are the worst imaginable forms of child pornography… one of the telecasts is believe to have involved the abuse of a toddler less than 18 months old.”

Several victims of the child pornography ring have been identified and officials are seeking to help them. Among the identified victims is one child whose molestation last April was transmitted live via an Internet chat room to an individual with the screen name ‘Big_Daddy619’. I hope they not only nail the rest of the ring but I hope they also nail ‘Big Daddy619.’
