Bush Airport Security Goes For American Idol Judges As Well
President Bush wants the Airports locked down and this means for everyone, even if your name is Randy, Simon, or Paula. If you think America is tough on terrorism then you better understand one thing, American Idol runs this country now, and just like our President, those who are in charge can make rules as they go. Case in point, Paula Abdul was running late for the live airing of American Idol, this caused her to have to be rushed through an airport, she was allowed to bypass airport security and board a plane with no screening or body check. Is this the way America gets tough on terrorism?
We let the privileged go on through while the rest of us normal citizens get stopped every other person. I know American Idol is the talk of the town each year but the wonderful hosts of the show deserve no more, or less, preferential treatment at the airport than anyone else deserves. Once we break the rules once it will open a flood gate.
Officially it was not Paula’s’ fault it was the officials at the airport. However, are they allowed to break the laws because they are star struck by American Idol? The rules are the rules and they are there for our safety. Regardless of whether you are a fan of A American Idol or not, they do not deserve to skirt the rules any more or less, than do the rest of us.
So next time Simon, Randy, or Paula, enters the airport and is running late, like so many of us do, they should, and will, have to wait in line just like the rest of us because if we sacrifice even one time we weaken the defense President Bush has tried so steadfastly to implement.
Airport security is one of the most important aspects on the war on terror, there is now way anyone of us is above the law in this concern. Therefore American Idol judges, I have to tell you, ‘Sorry’ you will have to wait.
