Hadley Speaks On Bush And Iraq

You cannot blame an individual for being an optimist but sometimes optimism can appear as idiocy and this appears to be one of those moments. On Sunday, a top security advisor to President George W Bush stated that the sectarian violence of the past week across Iraq presents a real opportunity for the country to unite. Am I missing something here or is this the biggest fluff statement made in politics in the last 100 years? How can the bombing, kidnapping, and murdering, of innocent citizens be looked at as an opportunity?

On Sunday, US National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley stated in an interview with CNN that last weeks violence, and the malicious bombing of a revered Shi’ite shrine in Iraq, along with the following reprisal killings, offers Iraq a unique opportunity. He advised it offered the opposing Iraqi political groups a chance to bond together. I think this is where I lose the message he is trying to deliver. How can the innocent killings of hundreds offer a better opportunity at peace? I guess I just don’t get it but maybe its just me.

I understand we are dealing with a Bush Administration who spins their own logic, and also makes their on definitions. However, can they really be trying to spin the past weeks violence as positive?

The Democrats are not buying this fuzzy logic. In response to Mister Hadleys comments, a senior Democrat questioned Hadley’s optimism, he stated that Washington should review withdrawing its thousands of troops from Iraq if the Iraqis fail to get their political house in order soon. Now this is logic I can understand. I may not totally agree with the opinion but at least I understand the logic behind the thought.

  1. When will the idiotic Bush bashers give it a rest, can someone tell me anything of any importance the haters have to say? Bush is the man and I challenge anyone here to prove to me otherwise. He has the economy humming and our country safe, what else do you want from the man?
