Islam: Bush Calls For End Of Violence In Regards To Mohammad Cartoon

The Mohammad cartoon violence has continued through another weekend. Will the madness stop anytime soon? The world hopefully believes so. Many are tired of the violence and they feel that these actions of violence, and racism, need to be justified by Muslim leaders. However, at a very strange time these leaders have grown silent.

Do Muslim leaders fear for their own existence or do they support the racist actions of the Islamic radicals perpetrating violence in the name of retribution? Strangely, the Muslim leaders who are usually so vocal to denounce violence are eerily silent to speak out against Muslim violence. They also have very little to say in regards to the Jill Carroll kidnapping.

How can a leader be a leader when it is only convenient to be so? Should they not uphold the virtues of humanity at all times? They cannot be part of the global society and yet pick and choose what is a crime against humanity and what is not. Racism is racism regardless of who the target of racism is, if they stand against stereotyping, and profiling, then why they don’t do more to stop the senseless violence against America, and other westernized countries.

President Bush has stated he feels terrible that a religion was offended, but he is alos upset at the mindless violence, he wants it to end, and I believe he is right in calling for the end. These individuals have no right, or reason, to commit heinous crimes based on their hurt feelings. They should discuss it properly, not use it as an excuse to perpetrate racist hate crimes.

The end of violence should occur, and in the case of the Mohammad cartoon, it should end immediately.
