While we fight the war on terror abroad we are losing another, maybe even more important, war back home, the war on gangs. No one really wants to discuss this issue; it is usually hushed by suburbanites who do not want to believe gang related activities could be going on in their area. They usually try to close their eyes and hope the bad guys go away. Well I have some shocking news, this tactic quits working around your fifth birthday and the bad guys, well, they like the suburbs too, they say that the big city is just to dangerous for a professional who makes the big bling.
You heard that right, these new gangsters consider themselves professionals, not thugs, or hooligans. These gangs are not like they were in your childhood, and these guys want the green, not the turf. You may live in a $500,000 a home neighborhood but that does not mean your neighbor, the gang-banger, is any cleaner than the gang related hoodlum who lives amidst urban plight. See it’s no longer leathers and knifes, its now Benz’s and Booyah’s, these guys are hustling like never before and they want your children as employees and associates.
Bush may be focused on foreign terror but there is an ever increasing threat of domestic terror he needs to address right here in domestic America. Gang violence has increased tenfold in the past four years, you may not have noticed yet but don’t worry you will, these gangs are moving further and further out, away from the usual urban cities commonly associate with gang violence, they are moving into areas usually reserved for the well educated and employed.
The rate gangs are recruiting at has grown to an alarming state, it has gained the attention of professionals at National Geographic and they have a special on this topic that is assured to blow you away. They have an upcoming special dedicated to the gang issue and for many parents this should be must see t.v..
No longer is it just the Crips, and the Bloods, the Counts and the Cobras, its now MS-13, the CFP, Money Inc. BMG’z, and various other acronyms.
Detroit, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, these used to be the hoods for he so called gang banger. However, you can now find these individuals in areas thirty, and forty, miles from the inner cities. We can’t keep moving further and further away. Its time we addressed this situation and help out these individuals before they are lost tot his life forever.
