Even the best, and brightest, of us need a bite by the big dog once in a while to keep us in line, and Senator Barak Obama got one from Senator John McCain. Senator McCain accused Senator Obama of being disingenuous, and of not keeping up to his commitment, in regards to working on a bi-partisan ethics reform plan. In reply, Senator Obama said its just a simple misunderstanding.
Senator McCain appeared to have labeled Senator Obama a disingenuous individual; he accused Senator Obama of basically blowing off his commitment on this plan. The Republican Senator appeared to have accused the Democratic Senator of paying lip service to the issue in a apparent effort to gain political points with the Democratic voters, and the Democratic party leaders.
The Democratic Senator from Illinois appeared to be confused by the blistering he received from Senator McCain. However, he reaffirmed that he is still pledged to help with the political reform work desperately needed in Washington.
The Senator from Illinois has been a rising star in the making for the Democratic Party but recently many have said the Senator is losing his grounded character, many say he is also neglecting smaller promises in order to engage in larger political affairs. Is this young Senator being swayed by the bigger ponds of Washington, does he feel he should have a larger leadership role? Only time will tell but in this instance, Senator McCain reminded him that you can’t run with the big dogs and not expect to get bit if you disrespect the leaders of the pack.
