Has the state of Michigan suffered self inflicted wounds in regards to its current employment problem, or is it their failing school systems? Many are asking hard questions as they address the future of this once industrious state.
The Metro Airport traffic was buzzing during the holidays, but many see this as a sign of misery not enjoyment. The reason being, if many children, and young adults, are flying back to Michigan for the holidays this means they had to leave Michigan in the first place, and this is more heartbreaking than a mother’s long good-bye.
These young families must be living in another state permanently, why would they? Most likely because they had to move to another state for good employment, something hard to find right now in Michigan.
If these children return back to Michigan for the holidays it usually means they had to leave Michigan originally to find good work, and this is where the misery is. The brisk travel during the holidays underscores the sad state Michigan currently is in. What can be done?
The Governor of Michigan has been trying hard to rebuilds the states economy, it’s a tough task. But a question must be asked, should more focus be on education? Should stricter policies be put in place to force our schools to improve, and make students take harder curriculums?
Some cities in the state have began their own programs to better children’s education, should their models be adopted statewide? Many believe so; they say it is a must if Michigan is to experience any type of job recovery in the near future.
With all of the money we are spending rebuilding overseas could be funneled back into America, maybe we would not have problems such as we see in the state of Michigan.
I feel that not one American student should suffer a sub-par education because of financing, or curriculum. We need to reinvest in our own future, put back foreign aide into our own American school systems.
Utilize our government contact list to find out what your elected offical is doing to improve education your part of the U.S.. We must stay vigilant in the protection of our young Americans futures. We here atVoteswagon.com encourage you to be active, maybe more active than you have been.
