Toyota Goes After Good Ol Boys

Just when Fords, and GM, thought they had put Toyota in the dust, Toyota announces shocking news. They will be entering a car model into Nextel Cup Racing beginning in 2007. They are going after the good ol boy network, and they understand the only way to do that is through the NASCAR series.

While Ford, Chrysler, and GM, are downsizing in America, Toyota is creating jobs, and building plants. While the Big Three are laying off in North America, Toyota is hiring. Now they want to put the pedal to the metal and go after the Big Three on their most solid of grounds, NASCAR racing tracks.

Toyota has been in the truck series for a few years now, but they want the bigger prize, a winning NASCAR driver and crew. Toyota has stated that as American companies outsource, they are creating American jobs. They state that they are as much a part of America as any American manufacturer currently producing automobiles. They feel they have every right to be involved in the most American of sports.

How do you feel about Toyotas’ claim that they are now more American than most North American manufacturers? Is this true to you? Toyota will tell people just look at the figures, they advise they are investing heavily in North America while our so called ‘Made in America’ Big Three, are outsourcing anything they can.

Is NASCAR the last battlefield for Ford, Chrysler, and GM?
