If I told you the gas station you filled up at supported local KKK meetings would you still use it? How about if I told you they spoke about stealing your hubcaps next time you went in to pay, would you stop there? How about if they told you they have a sign that states Jews could not buy gas at their station, and another that displayed a joke stating the holocaust was nothing more than a pity party planned for some attention? Would you still use their products? Guess what, you have, and you are. You don’t think so, just look at who the second largest oil producer in OPEC is and then tell me you are not.
And what about this racist persons friends? Who would defend such a person? I guess you have China, and Russia, defending them, saying they are not so bad, just give them a chance. Imagine, America’s number one trading partner says that Iran is not so bad. Think of this next time you buy an imported item. Why think about it? Because whoever controls economic power controls world policy, and unless you are living under a rock, you may have noticed how much of American business is now done in China. So if China say leave Iran alone, what will most likely happen?
When we rely on foreign countries for manufacturing, textiles, food, or clothing, we are sacrificing our own values and ideals for those of the trading country. While Washington urges U.N.’s action on Iran, we are buying as much oil as they can pump out. Why? Because we are reliant on them, like a drug addict fiending for another fix. Rather than create new energy markets, and find alternative fuels, we acquiesce to the oil dealers. We are the reason Iran has world leverage.
And Iran has pulled the oldest drug dealer trick in the book; they told us if they get referred to the UN Security Council, they will retaliate by stopping their free flowing oil. Tell a junkie he is cut off, watch how desperate they get. Who’s fault is it really, the dealers or the junkie?
U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has stated that Iran’s latest actions “crossed the threshold” and that the IAEA board should hold an emergency meeting as soon as possible. But what teeth does this statement have when there are no real tangible effects?
We tried sanctions on Saddam and look where it got us; he was selling twice as much oil then as the whole country is selling now. Again, our need for greed exceeds our own intelligence. This country is on the brink of nuclear weapons possessions yet I bet not one drop of their oil is refused by any self righteous nation.
Case in point, British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, stated, “There should be no rush to international sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.” This statement was uttered while the Secretary was addressing a conference on international terrorism at the Royal United Services Institute, kind of ironic don’t you think? Straw further reiterated that any referral to the Security Council does not automatically mean economic sanctions will be enforced on Iran. We sure don’t want to stop the oil flow do we?
Here is the threat from Tehran as stated in public; Iran has threatened to cut their supply so as to compel world oil prices higher if the UN Security Council imposes sanctions against it. Economy Minister Davoud Danesh-Jafari told the state-run Iranian radio, “Any possible sanctions on Iran from the West could possibly, by disturbing Iran’s political and economic situation, raise oil prices beyond levels the West expects.”
And who is in charge of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is. The President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has earlier called the Nazis’ World War II slaughter of European Jews a myth, he advised that he felt the Jewish state of Israel should be wiped off the face of the Earth by any means possible. If not eliminated they should at least be moved to Germany or the United States.
Iran is supposedly considering sponsorship of a symposium that would call into question all evidence which is used to explain that the Nazis conducted a mass murder of Jews during World War II.
Ahmadinejad has referred to Jewish citizens as a “disgraceful blot that should be wiped off the map by fire, or any other means.”
We have a racist leader, leading a racist country, and now we are relying on their friends to reign them in? Come on. The reason we are not more adamant on this topic is because we have to tap dance around China. Why, because of our large trade debt. And this is not all President Bush’ fault, he does not force you to buy all of the imports that you do. When is the last time you checked for a ‘Made in America’ label? So tell me Mr.\Mrs. Junkie, just how hypocritical are you? Will you do anything to make a change in this situation?
