Gore Accuses President Bush Of Power Grab

This may not be exactly the pot calling the kettle black, but it is akin to the potholder calling the kettle black. Former Vice President, A Gore, took time during a speech, to condemn current actions by the Bush administration.

Former V.P. Gore expounded on the current NSA controversy the Bush administration finds itself embroiled in. Gore stated that congress had purposely denied the President the spy powers he now claims as his own. Gore feels the current administration is ignoring the constitution, and the law. Gore reiterated the statement by saying that, “The disrespect embodied in these apparent mass violations of the law is part of a larger pattern of seeming indifference to the Constitution that is deeply troubling to millions of Americans in both political parties.”

Many Republicans scoff at the comments and remark that Gore was part of one of the most scrutinized Presidential Administrations in history. Republicans lined up in front of any microphone they could find so that they could offer their defense of the President. Many Republicans stated they felt that Gore is merely trying an attention grab for himself at the expense of American prosperity and security.

Gore went on to further badger the President and his perceived contempt for the constitution. Gore stated the wiretaps, along with the enemy combatant designations, are bringing the country very close to a sever breech of the constitution. He feels there should be a judicious investigation into the Presidents actions to make sure no violations of the constitution, or any federal laws, have been broached.

Should Gore lay such heavy handed accusations out there without supplying exact details of what the President has actually done that would incur such investigations? Many have thrown out the words, Impeachment, invasion of rights, and unlawful conduct. However, there have not been any specific laws pointed out to have been broken. Has Bush broken laws or not? The accusations are not enough, but if there is substance to this issue then it must be explored. The time for accusations is past. Either accuse the Administration of a crime, or move on. Either way, it would be good for the American citizens if we could just resolve this issue.
