Domestic America Suffers While Foreign Aide Is Upped

I was disgusted to read that Houghton Lake Michigan had to lay off 14 teachers this past week in an effort to stay within their budget. How can any American politician rightly justify to me how it is plausible to send billions abroad while our schools are going without here in domestic America?

I would like to invite these individuals to Houghton Lake so that they can face true hard working Americans, I want them to explain to these people why their childrens’ future must suffer. If you have a starving baby in your hands do you feed it your last piece of bread or do you just give it away? I guess if you’re a politician this question is not as easy as it seems. Maybe the problem is not the question but the politician.

Take the city of Detroit for another example. The city hosted the Baseball All-Star Game, and will host this years Superbowl, both within a one year time period. Many media individuals wrote abut the rebirth of the city during the All Star game, they said how buildings look occupied, and they did not see any homeless. Well here is how politicians in America are dealing with these types of issues.

They had a homeless round-up the three days of All-Star activities, and for the Superbowl, the homeless in Michigan are getting a five day Superbowl party, complete with a big screen party on Superbowl Sunday. The buildings that are vacant in Detroit have been repainted and decorated to appear in use, is that what is known as rebirth and economic creation? As far as the homeless, the homeless were hidden during the All-Star game and they will be tucked away during the Superbowl as well. The homeless will get transportation on Superbowl Sunday weekend by city of Detroit workers and police, the city does not want any homeless walking the street that weekend. Why? Because the city politicians want to hide the true state of Detroit, they want to portray an image more than address the reality. The city of Detroit is getting left behind just like the country of America. Everyone dodges the hard questions, especially politicians, until it lands in their backyard.

So again I ask, how can even one American suffer while we send billions around the world? Homeless car rides, decorated abandoned buildings, what is going on? With the world spotlight on the city of Detroit they should stand up and show the true state of the area, let America see the reality so our domestic issues are addressed, not suppressed.

Individuals blow off discussion of outsourcing, and off-shoring, until they lose their job because of this. Then the issue becomes the biggest deal in the world. I ask you not to wait, discuss this issue, protect your own job now, as well as the future jobs of our children. American politicians, as well as businesses, need to know, we still have a national pride, and we still feel unified as a country.

Many state that while we chase and fight terrorist all over the world, China, and India, are gearing up their resources for another run at economic supremacy. They ask, “How can America compete on the battlefield, as well as the business field?”
