Democrats State Republicans Are Selling Out America

The Democrats have been ratcheting up the talk in advance of the 2006 and 2008 elections. How much of it is rhetoric and how much of it is truth is up to you, the voter.

One of the recurring themes to the Democratic approach to the elections is the slogan that ‘America is for sale to the highest bidder.” They believe that Americans best interests have been sold out for the betterment of big business, which is represented in congress by lobbyists. The Democrats point to individuals such as Tom DeLay, and Jack Ambramoff, they say these individuals represent a large lobbying contingent that is undermining your way of life.

The Democrats have stated that they feel the Republican dominated congress of the last 10 years has sold you down the river with little concern for you personally as an American. They say that by allowing the outsourcing of American jobs and businesses congress has been doing what’s best for them, not you the American citizen. They say if you believe this then you must vote for change in 2006, and 2008.

The Democrats acknowledge jobs are growing but they state its not jobs that are lifestyle sustaining positions, they say only low wage paying jobs are being created and this is a recipe for disaster.

The Democrats say the Republicans have tried to wear down the resolve of the American citizen by making him feel helpless against the powerful tide of business and politics in America. The Republicans refute this statement but the Democrats ask the Americans to merely read the papers and read the headlines about American factories and businesses closing their doors. They ask, “who is the last big business to open a plant in America?”

Do you feel your elected representative has sold you out so businesses can offshore your livelihood for more profit and a potentially more attractive bottom line? Do you want more out of your elected officials in regards to how business is conducted in America? Speak up, your one voice, one opinion, one vote, does make a difference.

  1. Hopefully our elected officials stand up for the American people, although it does not appear this way. I don’t care, Democrat or Republican, they better be working for my best interest. I pay their salary.

  2. One can only hope that the effects of this disucssion reach far into Washington. It is hard enough to deal with companies who no longer have a feeling of nationalism, but if our own politicans have no alleigance, where does that leave us?

  3. While most individuals believe that we (the taxpayers) pay our representatives salaries, it seems many Republicans have been getting “performance bonuses”.

With Jack Abramoff willingly helping the prosecution, I think many Republicans’ stomachs are churning right now…waiting to hear what Jack tells them.
