What Do You Want From Bush For Your Vote In 2006?

What the President considers vital and what the average American considers vital are two totally separate views. What do you want to see from the President this year? This is a congressional election year so remember your voice will be heard even louder this year. What do you want changed and what do you want from the President to secure your vote for one party candidate over the other?

President Bush is looking toward the New Year and licking his chops at renewing his efforts to push through some of his major policies. However, with the 2006 elections looming many feel the President will have to tone himself down. Recently the President has been at the center of a couple of very emotional issues but many feel the President will rebound in 2006, are you one of them?

First on the Presidents list is the Patriot Act, the President wants this issue resolved and he wants it quickly. The President feels the Patriot Act is being held hostage by partisan politics and he wants this issue resolved immediately.

The President will then begin to focus on two main issues, he wants his Supreme Court nominee confirmed and he also wants his guest worker program approved for immigrants. Once these two issues are approved it is said that Bush will turn his focus on the nuclear issue involving Iran and North Korea.

However, many in America want Bush to address the Iraq War issue; they want a road map in place that will provide our country with a timetable for the end of this very taxing war. The American citizens also want Bush to enact legislation that makes America more competitive domestically. Americans want corporate tax breaks for domestic companies who keep jobs in America; this will help employ more Americans and provide decent paying jobs.

Next on Americans wish list is the issue of No Child Left Behind. Although this is supposed to be President Bush’ feather in the cap program he has mostly allowed the program to run amuck, the program is said to be under funded and under managed and Americans want answers.

In regards to immigration, most Americans want tougher laws and more law enforcement, many see the guest worker program as way to lenient, Americans feel the steady flow of migrant workers is reducing their chance at securing a good paying job.

There is also a growing group of individuals who are creating more and more of a stir regarding the trade deficit, they want this leveled out immediately, this groups has become very vocal in Washington lately.

It is apparent there is a disparity between what Bush wants and what Americans want as far as what issues need to be addressed immediately. With the congressional elections in 2006 you have a chance to make a difference in any of these policies you feel passionate about. Find out who your elected officials are, find out their policy, enact change. Your one opinion, one vote, does make a difference.

What do you want to see from President Bush this year, what issues do you consider top of mind and most important? What must you see done to secure your vote?

Bush hopes for better year in 2006

  1. I appreciate the opportunity to voice my opinion. Yes I want more from Bush, I want more job creation in America, I also want a spotlight shown on the traitorous American companies who outsource all our jobs. I want Bush to work for the American taxpayer, not just big business. If he wants my congressional votes for his party memebrs then I want service in return. I look forward to seeing what others want.

  2. I would like to see the President acting on behalf of the interests of the majority of Americans instead of making personal choices himself. I think the President has a misunderstanding on what a Democracy actually is, sometimes he acts closer to a monarchist than a representative.
I’d like him to uphold the Constitution, and individual liberties. I’d like to see him push for global equality, economically, and socially. I’d like to see him embrace world problems and spend less time on domestic problems. I’d like to see him move the Republican party platforms away from trivial subjects like homosexuality, abortion, traditionalism, and religion, and towards problems like poverty, disease, famine, inequality, and violence.

  3. Your opinions make good points on this issue Boog. Many like yourself want to see the President change his focus on many subjects and redirect them towards issues you mentioned, poverty, social issues, and the economy. You have every right to ask that the President uphold the constitution, I wish there were more individuals like yourself who would bother to pay attention and work towards making sure the President is acting in Americas’ best interests. Your point about moving from trivial issues to more important issues is well stated and shared by many. I appreciate individuals like yourself who want to make sure the political process is at least held accountable for its actions. Thank you very much for your opinions and viewpoints, I hope your words inspire many more individuals like yourself into action.

  4. Fortunately, this is President Bush’s last term. He does not have much incentive to change his ways, he ‘earned’ 51% of Political Capital and he’s said plenty of times he plans on spending it.

Just remember that 2006 is a congressional election year…let both parties know how you feel. You can find your state representatives from the Government Contacts page.

  5. I contact my elected officials quite often to advise them of how I feel on a certain subject or issue. You would be suprised how responsive they are. You are right about the capital, he has it and he is not afraid to spend it.
