Saudi Prince Turki Faisal of Saudi Arabia : War In Iraq Sped Inevtiable Spread Of Terror

Prince Turki bin al-Faisal of Saudi Arabia has said what many already seem to know, “The war in Iraq has sped up and spread out the war on terrorism.” Was the war inevitable? The Prince shares the same belief that many others do, if not (War) in Iraq then definitely in another Middle Eastern country. However, Prince Turki bin al-Faisals’ words carry immediate credibility because in Saudi Arabia he deals with radical Islam on a front line basis.

Prince Turki bin al-Faisal went on to also say that the accusations of torture being brought against the United States government is not helping with the current situation regarding the war on terror. He feels this helps the fundamentalist groups recruit through sympathy and idealism.

Prince Turki bin al-Faisal went on to state that America is not the reason there are bombings all over the world, he believes this type of action was inevitable as radical Islamic terrorist groups began to try and spread their form of radical fundamentalism throughout the world.

Saudi Arabia has recently been pointed out by the Bush Administration as a country that needs to improve its human rights record; the Bush Administration considers Saudi Arabia a close ally in business as well as the war on terror.

Many feel that Saudi Arabia is aligning itself with the U.S. philosophy on terror in order to maintain the royal families hold on power in the Arab country. Many feel that radicalism is growing in Saudi Arabia and the situation could cause a destabilization of power in the area.
