Probe Sought Into Stories Planted in Iraqi Media

Now this is what I call progress in bringing the Westernized culture to the Middle East. Next thing you know we will be seeing that there are actually Martians in Iraq stirring up all the trouble, and hey they may not have found Osama, or any WMD’s, but on page four I think they found Elvis over there in Bagdhad.

Is this really any way to gain the trust of the Iraqi people? Its bad enough we have to deal with the one sided reporting of Al Jazeera, now we have this story come out. Everyone and their brother is in denial and who will be left holding he bag, as usual the mid-level soldier or administration official who was told to carry out this program.

What is going on there and what is the real story? We are fed so much information by news sources that have their own political spin, or desire that, it is getting hard to now separate fact from embellishment.

Once word gets out that we have been embellishing our accomplishments the insurgents will have a renewed tool of propaganda and inspiration. The truth will always get told in the end and we must start operating this policy with that in mind.

Where do we go from here with this story? What does America do now to make sure it does not lose the trust of the Iraqi people?
