There are rumors floating around that Zarqawi may be dead. However, many believe this is only a rumor and cannot be factually proved. In the end does it really matter if they catch this individual immediately or not? If one individual is holding up the whole democratic process in Iraq then I believe there are larger problems then this guy. I understand the importance of catching him but I do not believe his apprehension should in any manner affect any resolution, or timetable, regarding our policy with Iraq. ‘Unlikely’ Zarqawi Dead; Three Civilians Killed
I say keep in touch and we can enjoy this long tale of Extremists and how they broke away from Islamic Regime which was composed in Harvard History Deptt.,
Waiting to hear the endgame of Team Bush
Thank you very much for the follow up link Shahzada. It now appears that after years of al-Qaeda terror attacks that have resulted in countless deaths, many Muslims Zarqawi could have possibly recruited to his idealism are becoming voices of opposition to his leadership. In most Middle Eastern areas a moderate Muslim would never consider speaking out against Islamic leaders, especially one as well known as Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, however many of these judicious Muslims are now discussing the handing over of Zarqawi to the American forces in the Middle East. The fervor of disgust is growing daily towards Zarqawis’ movement. The outrage toward Zarqawi is becoming so loud and acknowledged that it almost appeared Al-Qaeda was apologizing last week when many Muslims turned their wrath toward Al_Qaedas recent killings of Muslims, who Zarqawi calls victims of Jihad, in Jordan. When it was announced Al-Qaeda was responsible for the Jordanian bombing there was immediate outrage. Al-Qaeda initially stated that “a group of our best lions” carried out the attacks to punish Jordan for what it called “the support of the Jews and Crusaders”. Al_Qaeda released a later statement advising Muslims that they were not targeted and the hotel was chosen because of its Zionist status and stature in the area. With Muslim outrage still venting a third release was made by Al-Qaeda stating that the bombings were carried out after becoming confident that they were centers for launching a war on Islam and a place of support for the Crusaders’ in Iraq and elsewhere throughout the Arab peninsula. Many are now starting to repeat the notion that Zarqawi, and ones like him, are not only enemies of the United Sates and Israel, but an enemy to all God fearing people. Many Muslims are now speaking freely and openly about their disgust and sense of frustration in regards to Muslim extremists killing in the name of Islam. Ali Mohammed stated, “You know it’s bad when Hamas and Jihad give you P.R. advice.” Ali was referring to the recent statements by Nafez Azzam, of the Islamic Jihad group, who said: “We condemn the style, the random killings. We condemn the killing of innocents anywhere regardless of belief and religion.” Hamas also urged al-Qaeda to limit itself to striking against the US in Iraq and to avoid killing Arabs and Muslims. A statement was issued by Hamas stating, “Such condemned bombings will be at the expense of Iraqi and Palestinian causes.” The level of Al Zarqawis’ real influence in the Middle East is debatable, many say the American government keeps his name in the press so that the emotional support for the war on terror will not dwindle, others say Al Zarqawi is a leader of disillusioned ex –army veterans who have no enemy left in the world to give them real purpose. Regardless of your opinion of Zarqawi, Iraq must move forward in their march toward freedom and democracy.
This is a very good observation. The tide does appear to be turning on the fundamentalists. Lets see where this goes.
The Hamas and Jihad groups in Palestine believe they are fighting for a just cause. However, many in he Middle East do not fully understand the actions that Al Zarqawi is taking and to what means these actions serve. Many Muslims are expressing concern with what they feel is an out of control extremist who has lost sight of his original cause and is merely perpetrating hate and revenge on anyone he deems suitable for his own personal wrath, even amongst extremists Al Zarqawi is becoming a ship out to sea with no port destination in sight.
It will be interesting to see what happens when they finally catch this joker. I wonder just how connected he is in Iraq? Is he the leader of a large group or just an active group?
