Canadian Duck not H5N1: China threatens police action in fight on bird flu
It is true; a duck with the Bird Flu virus has been located in British Columbia. However, it is not the virulent strain H5N1 that is considered to be deadly to humans. Canada has experienced Bird Flu outbreaks before but the type of flu found in Canada is not considered a deadly strain. To err on the side of caution the United States has enacted a ban on imports for any poultry from the British Columbia area. Officials in British Columbia expect this ban to be lifted promptly once all of the tests are performed on the infected bird. However in China the outlook is not so good.China threatens police action in fight on bird flu
